From the "Common Beauty" series. I use luscious Daniel Smith watercolours to showcase the beauty of some of our more common and despised animals. This image is inspired by,  "A Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night", a folk song with origins in 15th century England. It's also inspired by the work of illustrator Kit Williams whose luminous images in "Masquerade" capture the ancient beauty of the English countryside. My fox is surrounded by dandelions, despised as a weed but also dripping with ancient folklore and an excellent source of nectar and pollen for pollinators like honey bees and hoverflies.
